When a tree becomes a threat to your home, your family, or your sanity — we take it down safely, cleanly, and for a fair price. Serving all of Shreveport and Bossier City.
Most Shreveport homeowners don't wake up planning to remove a tree. Usually it's a slow realization — the pine that's been leaning a little more each year, the oak that drops bigger limbs every storm, the crepe myrtle the previous owner planted six inches from the foundation. Here are the signs we see most often that tell us a tree's days are numbered:
Not sure which category your tree falls into? That's exactly what our free estimate is for. We'll give you an honest assessment — and if the tree just needs trimming instead of removal, we'll tell you that too. We make the same money either way; we'd rather earn your trust.
Tree removal looks simple from the street. It's anything but. Every removal starts with a plan: where's the lean, where's the weight, what's underneath, where can we drop or lower each piece? For Shreveport's typical jobs, we use one of three approaches:
When there's clear space in the fall zone — common on larger lots in Greenwood, Blanchard, and out toward Stonewall — we notch, back-cut, and fell the tree in one controlled piece. Fastest and most affordable option.
Most in-town Shreveport removals go this way. A climber or our bucket truck works top-down, cutting the tree into manageable sections. Each piece is roped and lowered — never dropped — when there's a roof, fence, pool, or power line below. Slower, but nothing touches your property except our ropes.
For the scary ones — trees split over a house, hung up in another tree, or too compromised to climb — we bring in a crane. The crane holds each section's full weight while we cut, so gravity never gets a vote. It's the safest method in arboriculture and the right call for genuinely dangerous trees.
A removal isn't done when the tree hits the ground. Our standard service includes limbing, cutting the trunk into haulable lengths, chipping all brush on-site, hauling every log, and raking the work area. Most customers add stump grinding — we'll grind it 8–12 inches below grade the same visit so you can sod right over it. Want the wood? Say the word and we'll cut it into firewood lengths and stack it for you instead of hauling it.
Ballpark ranges for our market: small trees $300–$600, medium $600–$1,200, large $1,200–$2,500+. The three biggest cost drivers are access (bucket truck vs. backyard climb), risk (open yard vs. over your roof), and size. We put every quote in writing before work starts, and we honor it. If we missed something in our assessment, that's our problem, not yours.
For most residential trees on private property, no city permit is required — but there are exceptions for heritage/significant trees in certain districts and for trees in public right-of-ways. If your tree is near a sidewalk or street, ask us during your estimate and we'll help you sort out what's needed before we cut. Cutting first and asking later is a bad strategy.
